Desert Paws Mobile Grooming started because one anxious terrier wouldn't stop shaking after salon visits. That dog was Sarah's. The solution became a business.

The Founder

Sarah Kimball — Owner & Master Groomer

Sarah has been grooming dogs professionally since 2012. She launched Desert Paws Mobile Grooming in 2017 after noticing how stressed her own rescue terrier got at traditional salons. A Fear Free Certified groomer, she built the business around the idea that grooming should be calm, familiar, and tail-wag worthy — not a trip to a loud, unfamiliar building.

Today Desert Paws serves over 1,200 dogs a year across the Scottsdale metro. Sarah still grooms 4 days a week and takes every new client call personally.

How we got here

Sarah starts grooming
Sarah completes her grooming certification and begins working at a traditional salon in Scottsdale.
2015
Fear Free Certification
After noticing anxiety in many clients' dogs, Sarah earns her Fear Free Certified Groomer credential.
2017
Desert Paws launches
First van, first client, first tail wag at the driveway. Desert Paws opens with a single mobile unit.
2020
Second van added
Demand grows through the pandemic as pet owners want in-home alternatives to salon drop-offs.
2022
Marcus joins the team
Senior groomer Marcus Rivera joins after 3 years at a grooming salon in Tempe.

Desert Paws now serves 15 cities across the Scottsdale metro with a growing list of repeat clients.
