Sarah Kimball has been grooming dogs professionally since 2012. She started her career at a traditional salon in Scottsdale, where she developed her technique working with every breed from Chihuahuas to Great Danes.
The pivot to mobile grooming wasn't a business decision at first — it was personal. Her rescue terrier mix developed severe anxiety around other dogs and loud environments after a rough start to life. Every salon visit ended with shaking, barking, and a dog that clearly didn't want to go back.
"I knew what I was doing was right, technically," Sarah says. "But I started wondering if the environment itself was the problem. So I bought a used grooming van, converted it, and started grooming my regular clients from their driveways. The difference was immediate."
Desert Paws Mobile Grooming launched in 2017 with one van and a handful of clients from the Scottsdale salon where Sarah had worked. Within a year she had a 6-week wait list. She added a second van in 2020 and brought on Marcus Rivera in 2022.

Sarah grooms Tuesday through Friday. Marcus covers Monday and Saturday. Either way, it's the same training, same standards, same result.
